1. The organizers have decided to open a LYS class. This means that if a minimum of 3 (three) boats register to race under the Finnish LYS handicap system a LYS- class will be opened.

NOTICE OF RACE HANKO – SANDHAMN JULY 4th to 5th 2010

Organizers: NJK in cooperation with HSF and KSSS.

Classes: ORCi, ORC Club, IRC, X-99 (requirement: at least 3 participating boats per

class),. IRC boats start with ORCi boats of similar performance

Rules : The race is governed by ISAF’s Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 (RRS), the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, the relevant class rules, the Sailing Instructions for this race. ISAF Offshore Special Regulations, Category 3, Monohulls and Multihulls with Life Raft, will apply with the same amendments that are applied to the Round Gotland Race 2010.

Course: Hanko - Sandhamn abt 140 NM.

First Start: Sunday, July,4th at 15.00.

Skippers’ meeting: In Hanko July,4th at 12:00

Inspection: Inspection of participating boats starts on July,3rd at 14:00. Boats should be available for inspection from that time. Inspection on Sunday only as agreed in advance with the race committee. Only a limited number of boats can be inspected on Sunday. The race office at HSF opens July,3rd at 13:30.

Prizegiving and Social Events:

The prizes are distributed at the Avomeripurjehtijat autumn meeting in Helsinki. The results will be released at a reception in Sandhamn on Tuesday, July, 6th.

For IRC boats not having an ORCi/ORC Club certificate, GPH will be estimated to

determine appropriate starting time and entry fee.

Eligibility Requirements:

The responsible owner/skipper shall be of age and be a member of a recognized

Yacht Club.

Competitors participate in the race entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4.

The harbour fee for the stay in Hanko is not included in the entry fee for the race!

Note! NJK asks the skippers to ensure that their boats are equipped as required by the safety regulations when arriving in Hanko. Some equipment may be difficult to get in Hanko.
